About KnowIllegal

KnowIllegal was founded by Glenn S. Doyle in 2023 with the mission to inform people about the legality of different things. We provide researched guides and explanations around laws and regulations to promote education and discussion.

Our Beginnings

KnowIllegal started as an idea to create a resource for people to easily reference when they have a question around if something is legal or not. We spent time researching different categories where people may have frequent questions, as well as thinking through how laws and regulations differ across regions.

After organizing the site into logical categories and subcategories, we published our first set of articles and began letting people know about the site. We continue to grow the information available as we get feedback on new topics to cover.

Why Illegal?

For areas that are universally considered illegal or restricted, we provide articles explaining the reasons and history behind the regulations. These guides give context rather than just saying what can and cannot be done.

General Guides

For larger topic areas, we have general guides outlining key laws and restrictions. These give a starting overview so our readers can dive into more specific articles as needed.
